If you spend any time reading about parenting on social media, you’ve likely heard terms like gentle parentingrespectful parentingconscious parenting, or breaking generational cycles. Many of the ideas behind these movements are genuinely valuable: children deserve empathy, emotional safety, respectful communication, and caregivers who regulate their own emotions rather than parenting through fear or shame.
