Lactation Services

Drs. Galla & Sexton both pursued additional training to become certified lactation consultants (IBCLC).  Dr. Sexton went a step further to obtain certification by the North American Board of Breastfeeding & Lactation Medicine. He not only provides unparalleled support to breastfeeding mothers, he also gives educational lactation lectures to other physicians. Together our doctors can manage common breastfeeding concerns in addition to diagnosing and treating more complex issues. These services are included with membership and are a fee-based offering for non-members as well.

What’s Included?

• A 1-2 hour appointment
• A thorough history of both mom and baby
• An evaluation of the infant's mouth and suck pattern, including an assessment for tongue tie
• Weighted feeds
• Evaluation of latch and positioning
• A personalized feeding plan
• Frenectomy, if indicated for anterior tongue tie
• Information on different ways to supplement, if needed
• Discussion and treatment of common breastfeeding issues such as Thrush, Mastitis, Vasospasm, Engorgement, Plugged Ducts and Low Milk Supply
• Pumping information and plans, including correct flange size and fit
• 2 weeks of virtual follow up via text or video chat
